What is a torque limiter
What is a torque limiter
Torque limiter (also known as torque limiter, coupling and clutch) is a component connecting the driving machine and the working machine. Its main function is overload protection. Torque limiter is to limit the torque transmitted by the transmission system in the form of slip when the required torque exceeds the set value due to overload or mechanical failure. When the overload situation disappears, it will restore the connection by itself. This prevents mechanical damage and avoids expensive shutdown losses. The torque limiter adopts spring-loaded friction surface, and the spring force is adjusted by nuts or bolts to preset its sliding torque. According to the working principle, it can be divided into friction torque limiter and steel ball torque limiter (ball torque limiter). The scope of application: electronic equipment industry, automatic production line, conveyor industry, etc.
