Selection method of flexible coupling
1. First of all, according to the requirements of mechanical characteristics, such as backlash, torsional stiffness, vibration and impact force absorption, etc., choose the appropriate
coupling type.
2. The torque borne by the coupling is obtained from the driving machinery (such as motor) power [KW,HP] and the rotation number [N] of the
coupling.
TA (Kg., m) = 973.5 KW/N (RPM) = 716.2 x HP/N (RPM) or TA (N, m) = 9550 x 3 KW/N (r/min). The load condition coefficient K 1, running time coefficient K 2, start stop frequency coefficient K 3 and ambient temperature coefficient K 4 are found in the table of positive coefficients, and the complementary positive torsion force [TD] is obtained.
TD=TA · K 1 · K 2 · K 3 · K 4
4. The common torque [TN] of the selected coupling shall be greater than the positive torque [TD].
TN acuity TD
5. The torque peak value [TM] that the coupling can bear must be greater than the torque peak value [TS] generated by the original moving side and the passive side.
TM acuity TS
6. Determine if the aperture range is applicable.
7. In addition to the above selection steps, the vibration frequency should also be reviewed. That is, the frequency of torque variation and the natural vibration number of the shaft [N 1] avoid the phenomenon of resonance.
